Our story

"Manuul Ecotourisme Mongolia" is a tour operator/DMC specializing in adventure travel in Mongolia. It was founded in 2007 in Ulaanbaatar with extensive experience in leading outdoor tourism stays aimed exclusively at French-speaking clients in Mongolia.

Our company's name comes from a feline native to Central Asia. Now extremely rare, it is known by several names, including Felis Manul, Manul Cat, Otocolobus Manul, and Pallas' Cat. The etymology of "Manuul" is believed to come from the Mongolian word for "Guardian"—an ideal symbol that watches over the wild lands of Mongolia.

As a pioneering ecotourism specialist, Manuul supports Mongolian rural development projects by organizing innovative ecotourism trips to Mongolia.

"Amgalan is a trustworthy person who has the advantage of speaking French fluently. His professional background in France and Mongolia also demonstrates his ability to adapt to circumstances and changing market opportunities."

Marie-Odile Pereira de Pinho, Dijon

"I toured Mongolia with Amgalan in June 2024. It was an extraordinary and memorable experience. Amgalan told us about this magnificent and fascinating country in a remarkable way. His historical, geopolitical, and sociological knowledge of his country (and even of France, which he knows perfectly) made the trip interesting and informative.
He introduced us to nomadic families who were exceptionally kind and hospitable, and allowed us to sleep in tents surrounded by landscapes that I will never forget...
I still dream of the steppes, the herds of horses and the sunsets where we sang around a campfire with the Mongolian family, of our bath in the river which Amgalan explained to us flowed into Lake Baikal; of our laughter at the jousting of jokes and various word games that punctuated the days; of our meals in the middle of these fascinating landscapes... each moment of our stay represents for me a wonderful memory in a captivating country with a brilliant guide!
Thanks to Margharita for the good meals prepared in sometimes difficult circumstances and to the very focused and reassuring driver who seemed to know every path in the steppe!!
Finally, thank you, Amgalan, for making this trip to your country an unforgettable memory!
I would go back tomorrow with Amgalan. Without hesitation!!”

Jean-Paul Caldini, Dijon

"I had the pleasure of participating in a nomadic trip to Mongolia, including wild camping and a family yurt, during the summer of 2024, organized by him. The professionalism, passion, and in-depth knowledge of both Mongolia and France of this efficient manager transformed this adventure into an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend him for any adventure in Mongolia!"

Pascale Autechaud-Lucas , New Aquitaine

“Trip to Mongolia in August 2024, accompanied by a kind, smiling, and available guide who had prepared an incredible journey for us in this magnificent country. Amgalan Bayar was a very friendly guide, attentive and very respectful of our wishes, speaking admirably good French. I highly recommend him.”
